Budget Accommodation in Singapore

Hello everyone!
I hope you guys have an amazing day today! For today entry, I would love to share with you guys where to stay if you are planning to come to Singapore. As you guys know, there are some travelers come to Singapore for a long vacation, so they will need a place or accommodation  to stay. I will suggest some of the best places you can consider to choose.

Singapore is a very compact city and its excellent public transport system makes all the main tourist attractions easily accessible. So, if you only plan a few days visit, you do not have to worry too much about the exact area. The easiest, but most expensive form of accommodation in Singapore are hotels. Prices for simple 3 stars hotels start at 50 euros/night and you can book them simply through

1. Airbnb

If you would like to save some money for accommodation in Singapore, I would like to recommend for Airbnb. Airbnb is a great solution in expensive countries and cities like Singapore. There are many nice rooms for a reasonable price 25-30 euros/night. Generally speaking, Airbnb is popular and most useful in those countries, where hotel prices are too high. Some great advantages of Airbnb are :

  • Price – If you are unsure whether Airbnb is a good option for your next trip, simply click on booking.com, check out the hotel/guest house prices for the specific destination and then compare them with current Airbnb-offers.
  • Originality and style – Price is not the ultimate advantage of Airbnb. In fact, you will find there many luxurious and expensive places to rent. And that is the point. It is not merely about the price, but also about amazingly attractive properties and locations. On Airbnb you can find a much bigger variety of accommodation compared to hotels.
  • Homey atmosphere – Airbnb is a mixture of couchsurfing and hotel. You stay with locals (couchsurfing), but you are paying for it (hotel). The homey atmosphere is another feature that attracts people to use and give priority to Airbnb.
  • Interaction with locals – Airbnb is just another great option how to get to know the city, country and its inhabitants better.

2. Capsule Hotels

Capsule hotels, also known as pod hotels, are typical in Japan, Singapore, Chinese metropolis´ and other highly-developed countries and cities suffering from lack of space. Capsule hotels are a great option for solo travelers. In general, they are more expensive than regular hostels, but cheaper than hotels. Capsule hotels are typically very clean and provide you much more privacy than regular hostels. Well, you literally sleep in a capsule, a bed-box or a cozy well-equipped bunker that isolates you from the rest of the beds in the room. Some capsules have a pull-down curtain, others have roll-door.

Inside the capsule there is a lamp, outlets with USB charging ports, a mirror, a tiny shelf and blankets. Usually there are separate lockers for your luggage and shoes in the room. Depending on the hotel´s quality standard you might also get breakfast, a towel, slippers, a toothpaste and a toothbrush. Often there is a purple or blue light in the capsule and/or the room, which always gives me an exciting science fiction feeling.
Some advantages of capsule hotels are:
  • It's cheap - This is the most important reason for many travelers to book a capsule hotel. In big cities like Tokyo, prices for a simple hotel room in the city center can be extremely high. The good thing about capsule hotels is that they are located in the same areas as where you would find a Hilton hotel, but they are half the price.
  • Their location - Because capsule hotels don't need large buildings to accommodate a large number of guests, they are generally located in the most prominent areas of cities.
  • It's very clean - Capsule hotels have the advantage that they are small, and people put their belongings in lockers, which ensures that all rooms in the hotel remain fairly clean on their own.
  • It's quiet - Most capsule hotels have a "keep quiet" policy in all rooms, except for the lounge. This means that the entire experience of sleeping in a pod becomes almost like a spa day. There are no loud noises from outside, no loud noises from your neighbors next door.

That's all my entry for today. It's quite short because in this entry the information is focus for the budget accommodation for those who does not have much money to be spend on accommodation. I hope it can helps you guys. Thank you and bye for now!
